Display Font Lino Gothic
About
Like letterpress printing? My new Display Font is full of letterpress texture I made the Lino Gothic from multiple prints made out of a linocut. It was then hand-printed on paper, giving it a weathered vintage woodtype effect. It also includes a free hand drawn script font.

The OpenType SVG bitmap font includes multiple versions of each uppercase character to create a realistic letterpress type. In fact, for each A-Z character, the SVG font has five alternatives, all printed slightly differently. Therefore, you can mix and match the alternatives to give your design a unique look and feel.
If this font were a celebrity it would be more Amy Winehouse than Amy Schumer it probably should be in rehab!
Display Font printed like letterpress
The typeface contains a tremendous amount of detail that a traditional font can’t, so it looks incredible.
In addition, it also includes a hand made marker pen typeface and a traditional vector typeface.

OpenType SVG Bitmap font
Lino Gothic uses the new OpenType-SVG Bitmap font format. A traditional vector font has one colour and no transparency. Lino Gothic has full transparency and thousands of shades of black and grey. The OpenType-SVG Bitmaps technology gives the font so much more detail than the old font format.
OpenType SVG, please read
OpenType-SVG bitmap is a new technology. Support is limited but improving. OpenType-SVG Bitmaps fonts only work in the latest versions of Photoshop CC2017+ and Illustrator CC 2018+, plus a handful of other native OSX apps. They also work on the more modern versions of windows again only in Photoshop CC2017+ and Illustrator CC 2018+. Windows user, you might not see your letters when you install the font, but it does work in the applications mentioned above. Adobe Indesign does not fully support OpenType-SVG bitmap fonts—so buy this at your own risk. You have been warned.
letterpress Image backups If your software is too old I’ve provided high-resolution images, so you can still manually compose letterforms inside Photoshop or your application of choice.

FAQs
- What is a letterpress font?
- A letterpress font is a type of font designed to mimic the look of printing done with a letterpress, a traditional printing method where raised letters or images are inked and pressed onto paper, leaving a slight indentation or texture. Letterpress fonts often have thicker strokes, serifs, and slight imperfections that simulate the characteristics of this printing technique, such as ink smudges or uneven pressure. These fonts are commonly used in designs that aim to evoke a vintage, handcrafted, or artisanal feel, and are popular for wedding invitations, stationery, and retro branding.
- What is a OpenType SVG Bitmap font?
- An OpenType SVG Bitmap font is a specialized type of OpenType font that uses SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) to store bitmap images for each glyph. Unlike traditional OpenType fonts, which are based on vector outlines, OpenType SVG Bitmap fonts allow designers to embed bitmap images (such as icons, logos, or detailed artwork) directly into the font file. This means that each character in the font can be a complex image, often with intricate details, textures, gradients, or colors, which would be difficult or impossible to reproduce with regular vector-based fonts. OpenType SVG Bitmap fonts are ideal for highly stylized designs, like logos, illustrations, or decorative text, where the visual richness of the glyphs is key. These fonts are supported by modern web browsers and design software, allowing for detailed, color-rich text on the web and in digital designs.
